Years ago, Iowa native John Sheldahl was told by his doctors that he had eight months to live with stage four lung cancer. Three years later, John has defied all the odds, a struggle he says he only managed to go through to experience at least one more great memory. John hopes to walk his daughter down the aisle on her wedding day, which is a dream he’s had for a very long time.
Luckily for John, that dream became an unlikely reality. Watch his amazement in the beautiful moment below, as John finally gets to realize a lifelong dream.
This was pretty incredible to witness. It was all made possible thanks to the loving nurses at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa. They worked hard to make the weeding possible on the medical center’s grounds, as Sheldahl wasn’t able to leave the facility. They even decorated and got the flowers and cake. Their incredible generosity let John live out his dream and defy the odds.
