When a school bus driver lost consciousness behind the wheel, his bus full of young children began to veer out of control. Luckily, quick-thinking 10-year-old Jeremy Wuitschick hopped out of his seat and grabbed the steering wheel. The student instinctively pulled the bus over to the side of the road before pulling the keys from the ignition with not a moment to spare. In the end, the heroic kid managed to save everyone aboard.
Even more incredible was how a staff member from the school happened to be driving behind the bus when the driver lost consciousness. The teacher rushed onto the bus to administer CPR once Wuitschick had pulled over to the side of the road. The kids told the teacher they had already called 911.
The bus driver was taken to a local hospital, where emergency service personnel told school administrators the driver was suffering from a heart problem. Still, thanks to the quick actions of the teacher administrating CPR, the kids calling 911, and Jeremy’s heroism, the driver would eventually make a recovery.
