This rock definitely won’t lose its shape!
An “exceptional” discovery has been made in South Africa.
In a press release, Petra diamonds said it had uncovered a 232.08 carat white diamond at the Cullinan mines.
In a statement, the company said, “The stone is a D colour Type II diamond of exceptional size and clarity, and is a magnificent example of the large, high quality diamonds for which the mine is known.”
The largest diamond ever mined was found in the same mine in 1905.
To compare, that diamond was 3,106 carats. About 13 times the size of the diamond recently discovered.
Those are some huge rocks!
